heelsss

So some of the ladies in my sorority have made it known that even in our early 20’s some of us still cannot stand heels/can’t walk in them. I always hate trying to sneak advice to them because I feel like I come off as a little snobbish? No, I don’t know the word but you know what I mean. So I figured I could make a post about some of the tricks I do when I am wearing heels.

First off, you can’t have the same kind of pressure on your foot as you would in regular flats or sneakers. I find my feet hurt a lot less when whenever I am just standing in one place to rest most of my weight on the heel rather than the ball of my foot. In most flat shoes I seem to do the opposite and I’m sure others do to.

Also, If the shoe is some kind of strappy shoe (like your foot is not coming out of that bad boy unless you undo some kind of buckle) Try and go a half size up. Half sizes only vary 1/16 of an inch so It should still fit pretty well, but that extra space in the shoe can help when your feet swell a little. All my heels that are a half size bigger are always my most comfiest.

YOU MUST WEAR THE SHOES AROUND YOUR HOUSE FOR A LEAST 3 HOURS BEFORE WEARING THEM TO WHATEVER EVENT! (BUT NOT ON THE SAME DAY OF THE EVENT)

Actually practicing walking in them will one help you get a feel for them and help you to learn to walk in them. Practice makes perfect! Two, this will break them in so that they will contour you your foot shape better and be more comfortable in the long run.

Purchasing heels that have a platform also help with the pressure on your foot, making them for comfortable. Shoes with platforms are really coming back into style and are everywhere, so you wouldn’t have much of a problem finding some. (Don’t get ones with more than a 1 inch platform unless you walk to look like an “exotic dancer”)

They also make lots of jelly inserts for shoes that help alleviate pressure on your foot where most needed. Though with my experience they are not a miracle worker, but they do help some. They sometimes can also help when your shoes are a little big, by filling the gaps.

And last but not least, sometimes you just need to sit down and rest your piggies.

Hope you guys found this helpful!
